1. Who we are
haritayapim.com is a personal, non-commercial Geographic Information Systems and remote sensing project run by Yasin Şahin under the name "Harita Yapım". The site sells no products or services, shows no ads, and offers no paid consulting. Yasin Şahin is the data controller.

This policy covers the haritayapim.com website. Mobile apps have their own policies (e.g. Pusula).
2. Summary
- No accounts, no forms, no ads, no analytics or tracking tools; the site sets no tracking cookies.
- The only data we collect directly is email you choose to send us.
- Maps and some page components load from third-party servers, which receive your IP address (listed below).
- If you grant location permission, your location is used only in your browser to show it on the map; it is never sent to us.
3. Data we process and why
If you email us, your email address, name (if given) and message are kept in our email service, Gmail (Google LLC, United States), only to reply to you, and deleted on request.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. The server is in Germany (Frankfurt) and backups are stored in France; pages are delivered through Hostinger's content delivery network. As with any web server, Hostinger keeps access logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser information). They are used to keep the site secure and running and for the hosting provider's own legal obligations; we do not use them for profiling or marketing.
Third-party resources
Fonts and code libraries are served from this site's own server. The map applications load map imagery, data or embedded applications from the services below. Your browser connects to them directly, so your IP address and browser information, and for map services the area you view, reach these servers.

The apps in the Platforms section are served by Google Earth Engine. They are not loaded, and no connection to Google is made, until you click "Load app"; once loaded, Google may process data and use cookies and analytics in the embedded frame under its own privacy policy. Instagram is only linked; no Instagram content is embedded on the site.
Location
The travel guide and the Orçul Information System (when you press its location button) may ask for your browser's location permission. If you allow it, your location is used only in your browser to center the map on you; it is not sent to us or any other server and is not stored. Location permission is optional; the maps work without it.
Browser storage (cookies)
The site sets no cookies. Only the following preferences are kept in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so the site works as expected; they are never sent to any server:

You can delete these at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
4. Legal bases
Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), data is processed based on legitimate interests (Art. 5/2-f): serving the site securely, displaying the map applications and replying to emails. For visitors in the EEA or UK, the corresponding basis is legitimate interests under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).
5. Recipients and international transfers
Your personal data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing. Because the providers listed above operate servers outside Türkiye, your IP address and browser information reach them abroad when you open the related page, and emails are stored in Gmail (US). These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Data may be disclosed to competent authorities where required by law.
6. Retention
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your request; deleted on request.
- Server logs: according to Hostinger's policy and the retention periods that apply to the hosting provider.
- Browser storage: until you delete it, only on your device.
- Third-party services: according to their own policies.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Users in Türkiye have the rights listed in Article 11 of the KVKK (see the Turkish version) and may complain to the Personal Data Protection Board; EEA and UK users may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. Send requests to haritayapim@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days, free of charge.
